Description: This is a non-tidal black mangrove community described from the Florida Keys. It is also found in the extreme southern Florida peninsula. Mangrove canopy dominated by Avicennia germinans and Rhizophora mangle is usually 4-10 m high and irregular in density. Batis maritima is a characteristic associate.
