Description: This association is variable in composition, but is normally dominated by Cystopteris bulbifera and the liverwort, Dumortiera hirsuta. This association is the characteristic habitat for Asplenium scolopendrium var. americanum (= Phyllitis scolopendrium) in the southeastern United States.
