Description: This community occurs on rocky cliffs and very steep slopes over limestone. Cercocarpus montanus var. paucidentatus is dominant. Ceanothus greggii is often common. The dwarf-shrub Petrophyton caespitosum is nominal as an indicator of exposed bedrock, and varies from scattered to very abundant. Other rock outcrop herbs and shrubs occurs.
