Name: Taxodium distichum - Nyssa aquatica - Persea palustris Forest
Reference: Southeastern Ecology Working Gro...
Description: This association represents one of several freshwater tidal swamp forest types found in the Florida portion of the northern Gulf of Mexico. It is apparently dominated by Taxodium distichum, Nyssa biflora, and Persea palustris. This type is known from the Apalachicola rivermouth and may occur elsewhere in the region. More information is needed to determine the full extent of this type and its relationship to other freshwater tidal swamps of the region.
