Stands are primarily dominated by Polygonum pensylvanicum, and may contain the exotic Polygonum lapathifolium. Associates in Oklahoma include Ammannia coccinea, Helianthus annuus, Lemna minor, Stuckenia pectinata (= Potamogeton pectinatus), Spirodela polyrrhiza, Utricularia gibba (= Utricularia biflora), and Xanthium strumarium.
