Description: This alliance is found in seasonally wet seeps and low spots in Florida scrub/flatwoods of the Florida peninsula. These areas are dominated by Panicum abscissum, which forms a dense turf, with various other wetland herbs, and often scattered shrubs such as Lyonia lucida, Lyonia ferruginea, Serenoa repens, Vaccinium darrowii, Morella cerifera (= Myrica cerifera), Persea borbonia, and others. A very sparse canopy of Pinus elliottii is sometimes present. Other typical herbaceous plants include Andropogon capillipes, Schizachyrium scoparium var. stoloniferum, Panicum hemitomon, Ctenium aromaticum, and Dichanthelium spp.
