Description: This alliance includes woodlands occurring along the upper Gulf Coast of Texas on the Ingleside barrier-strandplain, a Pleistocene barrier ridge. The canopy is dominated by Quercus virginiana. The patchy understory contains Ilex vomitoria and Prunus caroliniana, which may also reach into the canopy.
