Description: This igneous - metamorphic inland bedrock lakeshore community type is found on small lakes on the Canadian shield in the Upper Great Lakes region of the United States and Canada, and perhaps more widely in Canada. Stands are exposed bedrock along lakeshores. Substrate may be either granite/metamorphic or basalt/conglomerate. Vegetation is sparse, but little information is available to further characterize this type.
