Name: Eleocharis quinqueflora Herbaceous Vegetation
Reference: Western Ecology Working Group of...
Description: In Colorado, this uniform peatland community occurs in upper subalpine and lower alpine wetlands. Stands are dominated by Eleocharis quinqueflora and are easily recognized by their homogeneity, the presence of few species (usually little more than Eleocharis quinqueflora and Carex aquatilis), and the sparse nature of the vegetation growth. Information on stands that occur outside Colorado will be added later.
