Description: This community occurs on limestone in the Guadalupe Mountains of Texas and New Mexico. Cercocarpus montanus var. paucidentatus is dominant. Other shrubs include Quercus turbinella, Quercus grisea (shrub form), Dasylirion leiophyllum, and Ceanothus greggii. Muhlenbergia pauciflora, Muhlenbergia montana, and Muhlenbergia emersleyi can be abundant. This community is probably actually mixed evergreen - cold-deciduous.
