Description: This association covers emergent zones of Coastal Plain limesink ponds. Stands are dominated by Panicum hemitomon, Eleocharis equisetoides, and Rhynchospora inundata. Other characteristic species include Eleocharis elongata, Eleocharis robbinsii, Rhynchospora careyana, Eriocaulon compressum, Xyris smalliana, Polygala cymosa, and Juncus abortivus. The use of Eleocharis species as nominals and in the description would indicate that this association is intended to cover deeper ponds, or the deeper zones of those ponds.
