Description: This saturated longleaf pine - pond pine woodland association is only found on wet flats of the Atlantic Coastal Plain of North Carolina. Stands are dominated by Pinus palustris and Pinus serotina. The herbaceous layer is characterized by the presence or partial dominance of Aristida stricta and Pleea tenuifolia.
