Description: This herbaceous vegetation type has been described from wetlands on the Yellowstone Plateau of northwestern Wyoming. It occupies mesic, fine- to coarse-textured, mineral soils on flats and low ridges. The herbaceous vegetation may contain a variety of graminoids and forbs. Carex microptera, Phleum alpinum, Deschampsia caespitosa, Trisetum wolfii, and Symphyotrichum foliaceum are always present, and a number of other species may be abundant, including Antennaria corymbosa, Potentilla diversifolia, and Epilobium ciliatum ssp. glandulosum.
