Description: This northern igneous - metamorphic dry cliff community is found in the northern Great Lakes region of the United States and Canada. Stands occur inland from the Great Lakes Shoreline, and do include basalt/diabase cliffs. Other igneous or metamorphic rock types may also be included. These dry cliffs may have <25% total plant cover, excluding crustose lichens. Further characterization of this type is needed.
