Description: Tidal areas dominated by Borrichia arborescens that are part of zoned vegetation that grades up from mangrove swamps. The vegetation in this alliance occurs above the mean high water level. Other species that may be present include Batis maritima, Salicornia spp., Distichlis spicata, and others. Seaward this vegetation grades into Juncus roemerianus marsh. In North America, this vegetation is restricted to Florida, and reaches its best development in Dade County and south.
