Name: Alnus serrulata Saturated Southern Shrubland
Reference: Southeastern Ecology Working Gro...
Description: This broadly defined type represents saturated vegetation dominated by Alnus serrulata from several coastal and interior ecoregions of the southeastern United States. It may be subdivided as more information becomes available. Saturated vegetation dominated by Alnus serrulata at Fort Benning, Georgia (East Gulf Coastal Plain - Upper East Gulf Coastal Plain transition region), on the upper ends of beaver ponds, is placed here, at least until another specific association is developed if necessary. These are shrub-dominated inclusions in a Nyssa biflora saturated forest.
