Description: This alliance includes estuarine aquatic communities, dominated by Vallisneria americana, sometimes in association with Ruppia maritima, Zannichellia palustris, Myriophyllum sp., and/or Najas guadalupensis. It is found in the fresh or oligohaline waters of the upper reaches of estuarine bayous and creeks, and the main channel and tributaries of rivers where they enter estuaries.
