Description: This alliance consists of the vegetation of seasonally flooded pools on granitic flatrocks in Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama. These communities are generally dominated by the nominal species Amphianthus pusillus, Isoetes melanospora, and Isoetes tegetiformans, all of which are endemic to granitic flatrocks of the southeastern United States. Diamorpha smallii may occupy adjacent marginal areas of this community, which are flooded for shorter periods of time. Other species which may occur are Juncus georgianus and Cyperus granitophilus.
