Name: Typha spp. Midwest Herbaceous Vegetation
Reference: Midwestern Ecology Working Group...
Description: This community type is found in deep marshes throughout the midwestern United States and Canada. The vegetation is dominated by relatively pure stands of Typha spp., either Typha latifolia or Typha angustifolia or both. Many associates could occur. This type may simply be a less diverse variation of Typha spp. - Schoenoplectus acutus - Mixed Herbs Midwest Herbaceous Vegetation (CEGL002229), or is a semi-natural type resulting from human disturbance to wetlands.
