Description: This association is found in the Zuni Mountains in west-central New Mexico. Preliminary data indicate this type occurs along the rocky banks of montane streams at around 2290 m (7500 feet) elevation. This community type is characterized by a dense shrub thicket dominated by Cornus sericea ssp. sericea and Salix irrorata. Other well-represented shrubs include Prunus virginiana, Ribes leptanthum, and Rosa woodsii. Vines are also well-represented and include Humulus lupulus var. lupuloides and Clematis ligusticifolia.
