Description: This alliance includes grasslands dominated by an introduced perennial sod grass native to Europe. Stands have been described from Montana, but the alliances is likely more widespread. Agrostis stolonifera has been widely planted for forage in North America and has invaded native communities from hay fields, especially more mesic areas such as riparian floodplains and seasonally flooded wetlands in the semi-arid western U.S.
