Description: This association occurs in standing water on the shores of lakes in limestone regions, and is dominated by the tall bulrush <i>Schoenoplectus acutus (= Scirpus acutus)</i>. Associates include <i>Carex lasiocarpa, Typha angustifolia, Lysimachia thyrsiflora</i>, and <i>Schoenoplectus tabernaemontani (= Scirpus tabernaemontani)</i>. Aquatic plants such as <i>Utricularia minor, Utricularia intermedia, Lemna</i> spp., and <i>Menyanthes trifoliata</i> often form an 'understory' below the bulrushes and cattails.
