Description: This association is found on volcanic parent materials in the subalpine zone of a limited area of the Olympic Mountains, Washington. Sites are flat to moderately sloping and typically on dry southwestern exposures. The vegetation is dominated by a mixture of grasses and forbs, the dominant species being <i>Festuca idahoensis</i> and <i>Delphinium glareosum</i>. <i>Lomatium martindalei, Eriophyllum lanatum</i>, and <i>Lathyrus nevadensis</i> are characteristic.
