Description: This dwarf-shrubland association is currently only known from Wupatki National Monument in Arizona, and the following description is based on occurrences there. Additional information will be added as it becomes available. This association is found at an elevation of 1300 m (4265 feet) with no slope. The substrate consists of red sand, black cinders, and relict Pleistocene river cobbles. Total vegetation cover is 22% with 16% in the shrub layer and 5% in the ground layer. Species diversity consists of 8 species. The dwarf-shrub layer is dominated by <i>Tiquilia latior</i>, and the herbaceous layer is dominated by <i>Sporobolus airoides</i>.
