Description: This Chihuahuan Desert lowland sandy plains grassland association is localized to the southern Jornada Basin in south-central New Mexico. It occurs in sandy interdune areas among <i>Prosopis glandulosa</i> coppice dunefields at about 1220 m (4000 feet). <i>Sporobolus flexuosus</i> and <i>Dasyochloa pulchella (= Erioneuron pulchellum)</i> are codominant and are scattered across the sandy interdunal areas. <i>Prosopis</i> is present but not dominant, but <i>Gutierrezia sarothrae</i> can be abundant.
