Description: From Muldavin et al. (2000b): This minor type is known from the northern Jornada del Muerto basin, and gentle dipslopes in the San Andres Mountains. Elevations range from 1400 to 2250 m (4600-7400 feet). It is characterized by abundant to luxuriant <i>Pleuraphis mutica (= Hilaria mutica)</i> and <i>Bouteloua gracilis</i> cover. Shrubs are insignificant, and forb diversity is low (eight species).
