Description: This is a <i>Pinus ponderosa</i> woodland occurring at relatively low elevations in the mountains of Trans-Pecos Texas. <i>Quercus emoryi</i> dominates the oak understory, often with <i>Quercus grisea</i> as well. Grasses include <i>Bouteloua curtipendula, Bouteloua gracilis, Bothriochloa barbinodis (= var. barbinodis)</i>, and others. It may grade upslope to ~<i>Pinus ponderosa / Quercus grisea</i> Woodland (CEGL000871)$$. In Texas, this community is known from the Davis Mountains.
