Description: This fresh flotant marsh type of the Chenier and Deltaic plains of Louisiana is dominated by <i>Sagittaria lancifolia</i>, with <i>Typha</i> spp. and <i>Ludwigia</i> spp. as the most common associates. It generally occurs inland from the oligohaline marsh types and is often interspersed with other fresh marsh types [see ~<i>Panicum hemitomon</i> Semipermanently Flooded Herbaceous Vegetation (CEGL004665)$$]. Species richness in this marsh type is relatively high, especially in the Chenier Plain examples.
