Description: From Muldavin et al. (2000b): On White Sands Missile Range this community is known from one occurrence in the Oscura Mountains. It occurs on a moderate, north-facing slope on limestone substrate at 1670 m (5475 feet) elevation. Overall grass cover is low and seldom exceeds 10%, but Muhlenbergia setifolia is the clear dominant. Artemisia bigelovii is the dwarf-shrub indicator species, but Nolina microcarpa is also codominant.
