Description: This is the driest of all inland saltgrass communities, typically more upland than wetland. Annual forb diversity is high which may be a reflection of grazing history. Short grassland, intermittently flooded maybe only from groundwater wicking to surface in wet years. Zone 1 (Brotherson 1987). This type is often undifferentiated in published data from wetter <i>Distichlis spicata</i> types.
