Description: This association is the most common marsh type of the Chenier Plain of coastal Louisiana. The type is strongly dominated by <i>Spartina patens</i> with <i>Typha</i> spp. as the most common associate, but numerous other species are present. Species richness is relatively high in the type. Additional common species include <i>Phragmites australis, Vigna luteola, Sagittaria lancifolia, Schoenoplectus americanus (= Scirpus americanus), Schoenoplectus californicus (= Scirpus californicus), Schoenoplectus robustus (= Scirpus robustus)</i>, other members of the Cyperaceae, <i>Ludwigia</i> spp., <i>Echinochloa</i> spp., <i>Juncus roemerianus</i>, and others.
