Description: This is a stream terrace forest of the Upper West Gulf Coastal Plain of Texas. Stands contain <i>Quercus nigra, Ulmus alata</i>, and <i>Ostrya virginiana</i>. In addition to these nominals, the following species are important: <i>Mitchella repens, Melica mutica, Dichanthelium commutatum, Chasmanthium sessiliflorum, Toxicodendron radicans, Forestiera ligustrina, Callicarpa americana, Smilax glauca, Vitis rotundifolia, Smilax smallii, Rubus arvensis (= Rubus saepescandens)</i>, and <i>Sanicula canadensis</i>.
