Description: This <i>Salix nigra</i> swamp forest occurs near Lake Pontchartrain, Louisiana. It is comprised of a nearly pure willow canopy and dense shrub layer dominated by <i>Morella cerifera (= Myrica cerifera)</i>. This community is apparently the result of cutting and alteration of former <i>Taxodium distichum</i> swamps.
