Description: This woodland occurs on upland (but subirrigated) saline soils near the coast of southern Texas. <i>Prosopis glandulosa var. glandulosa</i> is the dominant tree. The cactus <i>Acanthocereus tetragonus (= Acanthocereus pentagonus)</i> forms tangled thickets and dominates the shrub stratum. Other prominent shrubs include <i>Condalia hookeri, Celtis pallida, Castela erecta, Zanthoxylum fagara, Lycium berlandieri</i>, and <i>Sideroxylon celastrinum</i>.
