Description: This woodland community occurs as a gallery woodland along streams and rivers in arid areas of the Edwards Plateau and Stockton Plateau. <i>Platanus occidentalis</i> is the dominant (and often the only tree), although <i>Salix nigra</i> is often present as well. <i>Juglans microcarpa</i> is a typical and often abundant shrub, and <i>Baccharis neglecta</i> or <i>Baccharis salicifolia</i> are often present as well. Other typical species include <i>Panicum virgatum</i> and <i>Schizachyrium scoparium</i>.
