Name: Potamogeton spp. - Ceratophyllum spp. - Elodea spp. Permanently Flooded Herbaceous Vegetation
Reference: Southeastern Ecology Working Gro...
Description: This broadly defined type represents vegetation dominated by various floating-leaved and submerged aquatic species (including Potamogeton spp., Ceratophyllum spp., Utricularia spp., and Elodea spp.) from the Cumberlands across to the Atlantic and Gulf coastal plains. Individual stands are typically species-poor and may be dominated by a single species, this leading to any number of apparent dominance types. Until the patterns are better understood, these are all grouped together here.
