Description: This association occurs in elongated interdune swales on coastal islands and peninsulas. Stands typically contain <i>Eleocharis elongata, Panicum tenerum</i>, and <i>Nymphaea odorata</i>. Other characteristic species include <i>Eleocharis equisetoides, Dichanthelium erectifolium, Rhynchospora tracyi</i>, and <i>Rhynchospora macrostachya</i>. Isolated individuals of woody species such as <i>Cephalanthus occidentalis, Nyssa biflora</i>, and <i>Ilex cassine</i> may occur in this community, especially near its edges.
