Description: This vegetation occupies upper, infrequently flooded brackish areas of Florida coastal marshes. It is dominated by the giant fern <i>Acrostichum aureum</i>, sometimes intermixed with <i>Acrostichum danaeifolium</i>. Occurrences are usually small, but it can occupy large areas as well. In the southeastern United States, the alliance is restricted to southern Florida.
