Description: Submerged rock pavement along margins of montane streams and rivers, in the mountains of eastern Cuba, especially over serpentine, with <i>Mayaca fluviatilis ssp. fluviatilis</i> as the sole dominant. <i>Mayaca fluviatilis ssp. fluviatilis</i> strongly dominates this community. Other species include <i>Fimbristylis annua, Eleocharis elegans, Anemia nipensis, Utricularia pusilla, Heptanthus lobatus, Koehneola repens</i> (a number of which are Cuban endemics). DISTRIBUTION: Mountain ranges of eastern Cuba.
