Description: This mangrove swamp forest of southern Florida occurs on wetland hammock islands surrounded by wet prairie. It is dominated by a 4- to 15-m tall canopy of <i>Conocarpus erectus, Metopium toxiferum, Acoelorraphe wrightii</i>, and <i>Sabal palmetto</i>. Subcanopy and shrub species include <i>Chrysobalanus icaco, Sabal palmetto</i>, and <i>Myrsine floridana</i>.
