Description: This water-lily aquatic community is found in the boreal regions of central Canada and may occur in the United States. Stands occur on the margins of lakes or in ponds and slow-moving rivers. The vegetation is dominated by rooted aquatics, with at least 25% cover. Dominants include <i>Nymphaea tetragona, Nuphar microphylla (= Nuphar lutea ssp. pumila)</i> and <i>Nuphar variegata (= Nuphar lutea ssp. variegata)</i>.
