Description: This boreal rocky grassland type is found in the northern Great Lakes region of the United States and Canada. Stands occur on granite or metamorphic rocks. Soils are thin and acidic. The vegetation is open and dominated by graminoids. Characteristic dominants include <i>Danthonia spicata</i> and <i>Poa compressa</i>. Other features of this type still need to be described.
