Description: This association is only known from the Santa Monica Mountains region. It is likely to occur in other parts of southern coastal California and adjacent Baja California, Mexico. This woodland association occurs on gentle to somewhat steep slopes with variable aspects at low elevations between 134 and 460 m. It is dominated by <i>Platanus racemosa</i> in the tree layer. The shrub and herbaceous layers are open.
