Description: This shrubland association occurs on gentle to steep northeast- and northwest-facing slopes at low elevations between 332 and 729 m. It is characterized by a codominance of <i>Ceanothus oliganthus</i> and <i>Quercus berberidifolia</i> in the shrub layer. The herbaceous layer is sparse and insignificant. The emergent tree layer occasionally includes <i>Quercus agrifolia</i>.
