Name: Populus tremuloides / Rubus parviflorus Forest
Reference: NatureServe Biotics 2019
Description: This rare but widespread forest occurs on slopes at high elevations in the mountains of western Wyoming, southeastern Idaho, northeastern Utah, northwestern Montana, extending into adjacent Alberta. Stands of this type have been documented from 2440 to 2835 m (8000-9300 feet) elevation, on the upper and middle portions of fairly steep slopes with a variety of aspects and parent materials. Populus tremuloides forms the tree overstory, and Rubus parviflorus strongly dominates the shrub layer.
