Name: Arctostaphylos uva-ursi Alpine Dwarf-shrubland Reference: NatureServe Biotics 2019 Description: This association occurs at high elevations (1800-2225 m [5900-7300 feet]) on southerly aspects with dry soils in the alpine or upper subalpine parkland zones. <i>Arctostaphylos uva-ursi</i> dominates or codominates with <i>Dasiphora fruticosa ssp. floribunda</i>. <i>Juniperus communis</i> or <i>Empetrum nigrum</i> can be occasionally prominent to codominant dwarf-shrubs. <i>Carex nigricans</i> and <i>Artemisia furcata</i> can be prominent.
