Description: This is a herbaceous, alkali meadow community dominated by <i>Leymus cinereus</i>. This association is found in alkali meadows throughout the Great Basin and arid portions of California between 1220 and 2900 m (4000-9500 feet) elevation. It is restricted to saline, permanently saturated bottomlands or the lower portions of alluvial slopes between 1400-3000 m elevation. <i>Leymus cinereus</i> is the sole or dominant grass in the herbaceous layer. <i>Pseudoroegneria spicata, Bromus tectorum, Achnatherum hymenoides, Koeleria macrantha, Poa secunda, Hesperostipa comata, Achnatherum thurberianum</i>, and/or <i>Pascopyrum smithii</i> may be present. Emergent shrubs may be present. Grasses are &lt;1.5 m, and cover is open.
