Name: Calamagrostis purpurascens Alpine Meadow Reference: NatureServe Biotics 2019 Description: This dry alpine tundra plant association is known from the eastern portion of the northern Cascade Range in Washington and British Columbia, and has been reported from California. Small stands of the association occur on moderate to steep, well-drained, rocky south- to west-facing windward slopes at 2225-2610 m (7300-8550 feet) elevation. Relatively low seasonal accumulations of snow melt rapidly.
