Name: Carex vernacula - Poa fendleriana Wet Meadow
Reference: NatureServe Biotics 2019
Description: This association is reported from a single drainage in the western Great Basin of northern Nevada. It occupies low spots with gentle slopes within a sagebrush steppe community matrix. Soils are fine-textured, well-developed, and seasonally wet (mottling). This herbaceous community has a high cover of vegetation (86%) and is dominated by the graminoids Carex vernacula and Poa fendleriana. Because most stands have been heavily grazed, forbs such as Monolepis nuttalliana, Phlox sp., and Potentilla arguta may contribute significantly to the total cover. Shrubs are absent.
