Description: This type occupies wet alpine and subalpine meadows in the Bighorn Mountains of north-central Wyoming and the Medicine Bow Mountains and Sierra Madre of south-central Wyoming. <i>Deschampsia cespitosa</i> dominates the vegetation, and <i>Phleum alpinum</i> is a subdominant. A number of other graminoids and forbs often are present, including <i>Carex</i> spp., <i>Achillea millefolium, Antennaria corymbosa, Symphyotrichum foliaceum, Ranunculus alismifolius</i>, and <i>Pedicularis groenlandica</i>. <i>Dasiphora fruticosa ssp. floribunda</i> may also be present, but shrubs contribute little cover.
